Scream
The possibility of discovery is reason enough for taking a hike. Each walk in the wilderness is an opportunity to find something new. During even a short walk plants, rocks, clouds, water, animals, and light will present themselves to the trekker's senses for consideration. Sometimes he responds to these natural solicitations, sometimes not. Each person experiences the wilderness in their own way and reacts accordingly.
In addition to the natural wilderness, there is also a personal wilderness. It too can be explored and draws many wanderers simply because it is there. Like the experiences on a hike, the personal wilderness has places where the voyager will stumble across unexpected things that will attract his attention. He will linger, at least momentarily, surprised at what he's found. Eventually he will decide whether or not it holds meaning for him and either find away to preserve the moment or move on. There will be flashes of discovery in this curious place, and just like on the hike in the physical wilderness, the wanderer will start to wonder.
Each picture involves a journey in both the natural and personal wilderness. Both are amazing and hold deep meaning, and each must be explored in order for a print to be properly born. The film exposed on the hikes becomes the trails for making prints. Mystery, opportunity, and understanding usually dot the way.
