Orton Hills
The "Orton effect" is a photographic technique that imparts more vibrant color and soft focus to images. While originally developed to be used in film cameras, it's now possible to simulate the effect digitally. For this image, the Orton effect was used to substantially enhance the hints of color in these hills. The soft focus, however, didn't quite work with the shapes, so most of the texture was added back after the color had been developed.
