Hands of Man
The Anasazi were prehistoric Native Americans who inhabited the Colorado Plateau. They left behind many cultural artifacts including pottery shards, arrowheads, pueblo and cliff dwellings, and rock art. Pictures carved into stone are known as petroglyphs. Images painted on rock are called pictographs. This image of Anasazi handprints is a signature, in my mind, of a craftsman or artist from centuries ago. It's a pictograph that speaks to the innate desire of humans to leave behind a personal legacy that will survive them. The owner of these hands was successful.
